Exactly…

so now on to more pressing matters…

Haven Meadows (dot) com…

YES go there, check it out!  See artwork like THIS:

CLICK IT!  You know you want to….

And now to more things you should click:

Both of them need to be updated but I’ve been busy!

><

Sorry guys,  go check em out anyway!  Good stuff there!

While your at it, have you seen the items I have for sale for local pickup or delivery in the Austin TX area?

just go to:  http://www.assetrenew.com

Check out what is available.

I also have a new idea for a business building online stores for people.  Wanna know how it works?  Need an online store for yourself?  Then Contact Me for more info! :)

Ok… so what other projects do I have going on right now…

Oh yeah!  Have you heard of Liquid Media Lab?  or Waveform Lasers?

(click the links)

ok….. what else, what else…

oh yeah!  I have a new camera!

The Panasonic Lumix G1 is the world first Micro 4/3 Lens Camera.

“What does that mean Nate?”

Well, in all older SLR cameras the camera had a mirror box that would reflect what was seen through the lens up to the viewfinder so the photographer could look through and capture his image perfectly.  With the Panasonic Lumix g1 this mirror box was removed and replaced with a small lcd screen.  This allowed the SLR to become much more compact.

Now there are two companies that have adapted this new lens standard.  Olympus has been working on a micro 4/3 point and shoot while Panasonic has come out with the Lumix g1 (and also the GH1 that has the ability to shoot HD video)

So now I have this beautiful new micro 4/3 SLR camera that I can go out and take amazing photographs with as well as do professional photo shoots.

Interested in hiring a photographer? videographer?  graphic designer?  web developer?

Hanging ten on the cosmic wave….

Posted by The Mind of Nate | Cool Stuff Worth Checking Out,People, Places and Events,Techno-Blabb,The Path To Enlightenment | Wednesday 14 January 2009 8:21 pm

will take you to some interesting places to meet some interesting people.

So take a moment to check this out!

First of all let me tell you about:
The Tree Of Life
The Tree Of Life is a rejuvenation center located in Patagonia Arizona. A place of holistic healing and spirituality. And the view from the Arizona mountains is amazing.

Next on the agenda of cool things you need to check out:
Orange Piel
Orange Piel does interior design and prints photography on wall sized screens. They have a few artists that are featured on the site but they can also print any image that is provided. They also print window screens that are really nice and look amazing when the light shines through them. They are perfect for home, office or store front.

ok now if wall sized prints wasn’t cool enough for you maybe you need to check out the 3D television by
Wazabee

They don’t have the 42″ 3D television available on their website yet but it should be available soon (starting around $4,000) They do have a 3D computer monitor that is quite impressive. Their products work with innovative lenticular technology to create the 3D effect.

I also discovered a new online digital art gallery that is worth checking out:
Its Art

Its Art magazine is a source of information and online gallery for digital art. Worth spending some time there and checking it all out.

Some more art worth checking out is my buddy Marco Valenzuela. This is his 2008 3D modeling reel. Marco is an amazing character model and is currently available for hire or freelance work.

Another project I’ll be working on this year is the
Coalessence Festival
Coalessence will be moving from Eureka Springs to Austin Texas this fall. For more information stay tuned to their website.

Well let me see… What else… I have so much cool software I have recently discovered but I think I’m going to just leave you with a my VJ promo clip.

The Winter Solstice

Posted by The Mind of Nate | Cool Stuff Worth Checking Out,People, Places and Events,The Path To Enlightenment | Sunday 21 December 2008 7:04 pm

The winter solstice is an astrological mark showing the mid winter. It is based on the location of the sun in the sky, when is at its greatest angular distance on the other side of the equatorial plane from the observers hemisphere. Basically its when the sun is at the lowest position in the sky. Many ancient cultures have calculated this moment and pinpointed it exactly. This year it occurred December 21st (2008) at 12:09PM. The Comanche Indians in Texas found a bluff that ran east to west and established it as a sacred place to paint astronomically aligned pictographs. On this bluff they created two solar markers, one to calculate the vernal equinox and another to calculate the winter solstice. An ancient Comanche tribal leader would stand upon a keystone that ran almost perfectly north to south. He would then watch for the shadow of the roadrunner to appear followed by the shadow of the wolf. The wolf shadow crosses across a painting with 4 marks. As it hits the 4th mark a speck of light beings to pierce its way through a painting of a turtle with a sun dial on its back.

Well of course seeing this amazing ancient calculation come to pass was an event I decided I couldn’t miss! So I spent my Sunday afternoon driving to this location and photographing and filming the phenomenon. Of course I had to do some cool effects and get video as well.

RIGHT HERE is where I would put the photos and video
but unfortunately my camera is in use filming a multidimensional discussion right now so please come check back later tonight, I will have both HDR photos of the paintings as well as 3D photos! And also a video of the spear of light piercing the turtle, initiating the winter solstice.

Symbols left by Indians to mark their presence at this location

The vernal equinox pictograph
on the first day of spring an angled shadow is cast which the small stick figure is walking up
the rest of the symbols are star maps

3D tree! :D

I still have to post more 3D photos and images of the symbol of winter solstice
Check back later, hopefully I’ll have these up soon.

Sacred & Profane Gallery Show

Posted by The Mind of Nate | Art, Photography and Design,Cool Stuff Worth Checking Out,People, Places and Events | Thursday 30 October 2008 11:57 am

So my friend makes these crazy bone sculptures. Last Monday I helped him cart over a dozen of his sculptures to Houston TX to setup in the Celtic Dragon Gallery. If you want to check out the show the address of the gallery is; 1503A Chartres, Houston TX. I believe the show runs from now until mid December so if you get a chance go check it out!

Also last night I sat down in the Haven Meadows Studio and made my own bone sculpture. Here are some pictures:

Birth a Bounty of Peace….

Posted by The Mind of Nate | Cool Stuff Worth Checking Out,People, Places and Events | Monday 20 October 2008 4:20 pm

So this last weekend was Maker Faire!!! It felt like I died and went to NERD HEAVEN! :P LoL

So.. I saw all sorts of cool stuff! There were electric Cars, MIDI Guitars, a computer built out of an old oscilloscope, a computer submerged in a fish tank, instruments you play by waving your hand, touch sensitive music controller, fire drums, a fire truck with a built in solar stage, self propelled skateboards, a city of legos and MORE!!!

As well as some awesome art including: 3D Portraits on the spot, beautiful digital prints with welded frames to match, some really nice HDR photography, trippy 3D art, beautiful photoshop compliations, a guy who carves peanuts and even some amazing hand carved leather art by Moses. Moses even showed me how to make my own leather art and I think leather carving is going to become a new hobby of mine.

I also talked to so many cool people: a couple that sells funky art online, a Texas handmade art dealer, a guy setting up community workshops and labs, and my favorite; a couple that walked around talking to people and giving them inspirational cards. I talked to them for a while and ended up getting three of them, the first one read “birth” the second “bounty” and the third “peace”
I think I know what they mean….

well not really, but today I decided to take some time to tell you about….

Maker Faire!
This Saturday and Sunday October 18 & 19 at the Travis County Expo Center!
I will be out there with the 8D crew and I think were going to be showing people 3D art… so check it out!

also while I’m advertising… check out the new and improved
Subliminal Phoenix (dot com)

The site still needs some IE debugging but it looks beautiful in Firefox

So while your checking all this new stuff out let me recommend an awesome website to you for Photoshop tutorials and techniques. Its hosted on an online video website called Revision3 and the show is called Pixel Perfect The host Bert Monroy is kinda like the Bob Ross of digital painting. If your just starting out learning photoshop or an advanced user who wants to learn new techniques I would highly recommend watching all of his episodes.

Well thats it for now guys…
