The winter solstice is an astrological mark showing the mid winter. It is based on the location of the sun in the sky, when is at its greatest angular distance on the other side of the equatorial plane from the observers hemisphere. Basically its when the sun is at the lowest position in the sky. Many ancient cultures have calculated this moment and pinpointed it exactly. This year it occurred December 21st (2008) at 12:09PM. The Comanche Indians in Texas found a bluff that ran east to west and established it as a sacred place to paint astronomically aligned pictographs. On this bluff they created two solar markers, one to calculate the vernal equinox and another to calculate the winter solstice. An ancient Comanche tribal leader would stand upon a keystone that ran almost perfectly north to south. He would then watch for the shadow of the roadrunner to appear followed by the shadow of the wolf. The wolf shadow crosses across a painting with 4 marks. As it hits the 4th mark a speck of light beings to pierce its way through a painting of a turtle with a sun dial on its back.

Well of course seeing this amazing ancient calculation come to pass was an event I decided I couldn’t miss! So I spent my Sunday afternoon driving to this location and photographing and filming the phenomenon. Of course I had to do some cool effects and get video as well.

This is a question that has been asked through the ages. What is spirituality and how does it affect me? When I think of spirituality I think of spiritual energy, our soul if you will. That spiritual energy is inside every creature in this universe and it ties all creatures together. Every human being has an energy connection with every other human they interact with. Some of these “energy” or “spiritual” bonds are stronger than others. I believe the strongest spiritual energy bond is between parents and children, although this bond can be weakened or even severed. So now you’re probably wondering “if spirituality is energy what about god, satan, heaven, hell and everything else religion teaches.” Well open your mind with me for just a moment and understand that the spirit world is the energy world. That energy flows through us and all other living things. This energy is a bond to tie the universe together. If you think about life in this way and you keep an open perspective on reality as I do then you will see that there are similarities in all religions. I could fill a whole book with the comparisons between religion and spiritual energy. How faith in the wrong men can lead to spiritual blindness, the closing of the third eye and a close-minded perspective on life. This is what the dark powers in the world want. I am just trying to explain what I have learned throughout my life. I hope to bring my enlightened perspective to those that are open minded enough to absorb it. But please don’t take my words at any more than face value. Real spirituality is something you have to understand and discover yourself; I am only trying to show you the way. If you can learn what I have discovered in the last 24 years of my life then I have accomplished my mission. Maybe then we can stop and overcome this dark shadow that has been creeping across the world. Not through religion, money, power or war but through a multitude of open minded, free thinkers standing up for the truth. I want to discuss quite a few topics: compare the similarities between all religions, how your spiritual energy flows and is connected with everything, how your mind works and how to escape from close minded thinking, and everything else I think everyone should know. Those that look at life with an open mind will take my words and use them to advance their own spiritual journey. Anyone with a closed mind will either begin to open their mind or be blinded by their own stubbornness, too set in their own idea of reality to see the truth or allow it to change their perspective. If you are the last one please, stop reading this and just dispute it without trying to find valid arguments inside. I don’t want to argue about what I know is true I just want others to understand. Remember, these writings are just the words of man, don’t just blindly accept what I have to say, instead go out and find out the truth as I did.

Have you ever thought about how lavalamps are a metaphor for reality. Two types of matter being affected by energy to create infinite combination of possibilities. Shapes are created as the substance collides with itself and it can take on many forms. It is also constantly changing. Yet even though all this energy is creating these visually stimulating effect it is still contained in a jar. The amount of matter in the container remains the same. It is a varying constant. Always changing, yet never changing. Reality is so full of contradictions and variances, yet it still remains constant. But what if I told you that everything both exists and doesn’t exist at the same time… that every question has been asked and yet no questions have ever been asked and the answer is both true and false. What if I told you that the only thing holding reality together is the ego…

Or maybe I just stared at the lava lamp a little too much….

So anyway, this weekend was AWESOME!
Parker setup the visuals for Crystal Method at Sky Lounge. And what an awesome show that was! Then we went to a warehouse party and setup visuals there as well. It also looks like we have a venu to setup the aMAZEing 3D show in Austin! And lots and lots of people are interested in helping. The 8D crew website is underway and will hopefully be up and running by early next year. Oh and then Sunday I went to the coolest party EVER! It was a burlesque show thrown by The Enchanted Forest with the theme of black and red, my favorite colors! They had fire dancing, half naked girls everywhere and free drinks. The crew setup out there and we got some amazing footage to cut together for a DVD that will hopefully be available early next year! (I will keep ya’ll posted!) So now its Monday, I’m exhausted… about to get off work…
whew…
oh yeah, one more thing…. I’m really tired of picking up strippers. It seems everywhere I go I end up getting the strippers number and I’m really tired of it. I have some really good friends that work at clubs and I love them very much (the friends, I don’t usually frequent strip clubs myself) but DAMN IT, can’t I just meet a beautiful, sexy, wild, fun girl who ISN’T a stripper for ONCE! Its like a curse!

Hello Class, (good morning Mr Goodfellow…)
Today we are going to learn about Quantum Physics and how Matter can be a solid or a wave. (sounds interesting Mr Goodfellow!) So to begin my discussion I’m going to show you all this video from Professor “Q” Afterward I will discuss application and then we will leave the floor open to student discussion. Now, lets begin!

So what did we just learn…. did he really say that matter (like light) can be both wave-like and particle-like. And the matter state depends if it is being observed or not! So both light and matter, the two thing that make the building blocks of our reality, have wave–particle duality. And the state of matter is directly controlled by it being observed. Does that mean that all unobserved matter can be in any wavelength but doesn’t manifest itself as a particle until an energy being observes it and changes it to a particle. Are you telling me that its scientifically proven that people, both singularly and collectively, have the ability to control and manipulate the world around them by changing matter from waves to particles!?! That our perception manifests reality!?!

Wow, I think I just blew my own mind… *POP*

Ok, now its time for class discussion:

So as many of you know, this past weekend involved “Black Friday” the biggest shopping day of the year. So I’m watching the news and these two stories jump out at me… At a New York Walmart an employee is trampled to death after a mob of shoppers tear down the front door and stampede in to get amazing deals! they had a 50″ PLASMA TV for $800!!! OMG! WOW! I totally need one of those! uhh… is that someones skull under my feet? oh well! they ALWAYS have low prices! Besides you can save MONEY! and LIVE better! Well… except for this guy:

But its not just the East Coast that had a very dark Black Friday this last weekend. On the West Coast 2 women were arguing in a Toys-R-Us, probably over the last Hannah Montana Singing Doll on the shelf. I imagine they were both insisting that their daughter was going to get the doll for Christmas. Well I guess their husbands both decided to take matters into their own hands and both pulled their straps out and shot each other to death as terrified customers ran for cover. I guess neither of their daughters are getting Hannah Montana this Christmas, or to ever see dad again.
